Community Speedwatch Online - What do we do

What we do

CSW Online provides Community Speedwatch groups and Safer Neighbourhood Police officers (NPT/SNP/NHP) with a wide range of management tools to make community involvement with Road Safety policing more efficient.

The application ensures that everyone works to the same high standard and in accordance with the rules set out in the local County Police Speed Policy for Community Speedwatch activity.

The platform is designed to only allow its users access to areas of authority according to their role.
It provides a range of booking and activity calendars; holds group and session details, produces a variety of statistics, but also allows Police Officers access to recorded details of offending vehicles across all affiliated areas. Online mandatory training and approval of operators together with full documentation is provided within the system.

Based on automatic interfacing with the relevant Police Force?s handling of advisory letter issuing, the CSW Online application instantly produces a range of feedback and stats to both the Police and groups detailing case status and live offence rate/volume reports of repeat and excessive speeding.

Among many other functions it also keeps tracks of operator accuracy in order to interactively engage practitioners in educational online training to increase their efficiency.

CSW Online provides support for the three main Police County models but will accommodate any Speedwatch model:

  • County Centric where Speedwatch is controlled and run by a central department.
  • District Centric where Speedwatch is run from a central administration function with responsibility devolved to the local Districts.
  • Station Centric where Speedwatch is run from a central administration function with responsibility devolved to the local Stations.

The platform accomodates a wide variety of Policing roles/reporting relevent to staff concerned. Identification and auditing of all speed devices whether owned by the Police or Groups can be accommodated together with any ancilliary equipment, also calibration reminders are available when required.
